I’d had the ambition to set up my own agency ever since I first started out in recruitment, but in all honesty, I’d always found excuses as to why I shouldn’t or why I couldn’t.

The financial security of a salaried job can be a real comfort, especially when you’re accustomed to a nice little bit of commission each month too. But returning from the depths of furlough and going back to doing the work I loved for someone else’s bottom line made me clearer than ever: that the self-employed life was a truly realistic option.

I’d spent a year in lockdown considering what my professional future really held, and despite loving the job I was in and the company I worked for, I knew I needed real change that I could learn, grow and gain from.

That’s when Tidal Recruitment went from pipe-dream to reality.

Why did I set up Tidal?

A typical start-up will tell you that they’ve created a new product or service because they knew a way to do it better. My story isn’t quite like that.

I’m taking advantage of the fact that my team and I have worked for some BRILLIANT recruitment agencies, and over the years we’ve learnt from some of the very best in the business.

I’m talking about the ones who’ve won awards for their compliance, ones that have sold for millions because of their success and ones that have been established for years in the local community, earning the best reputations around.
