We’re on the hunt for an Assistant Depot Manager to join a long-standing team at their Crofton (Wakefield) depot. These guys hire out Powered Access equipment nationwide and truly are at the top of their game.
This is a role for someone who likes to be busy. You’ll work as the Depot Manager’s number 2, supporting them in the day-to-day running of the depot and stepping up when they’re not on site. It’s a hands-on position where you’ll be involved in a bit of everything, and your input will genuinely make a difference to how the depot performs.
A big part of the job is managing transport. You’ll plan deliveries and collections, coordinate the drivers and make sure machines are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
You’ll also support the hire desk, dealing with customers, taking enquiries and making sure people get a quick, reliable service. You’ll have experience in this type of role, so you’ll know what customers expect, strong communication and a customer focused approach are key.
It’s a fast paced and demanding environment, so you’ll need to be organised, calm under pressure and comfortable juggling several things at once.
Experience in hire, transport planning, logistics or a busy depot setting is essential.
Above all, our client wants a team player who’s looking for a long-term move. The previous person in this role was there for over five years, and they’d love to find someone who sees this as a role to grow into and stick with.
The position is office based, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm, with a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience. 25 days holiday and healthcare package as standard.
